On Real Mom Confessions
I am linking up with Anna at Girl with Blog for Real Mom Confessions.
This past week my daughter turned 9 months old. I remembered to take her 9 month pictures because some woman in Target asked how old she was, which in turn forced me to realize that another month is under our belt. {It was holy week, church is nuts, Lucy managed to get a double ear infection again last week} The pictures were taken - although I didn't actually pull out my real camera, thank God for the iPhone and it's camera which takes decent pictures.
It was Easter last week and as a pastor I didn't care one iota what Lucy wore or my daughter worn to church. My mother is a saint, she not only got Lucy a new {and ridiculously cute} outfit, she got her dressed on Easter morning and to church. It wasn't pink {why are all little girls dresses pink} and it can be worn again on other occasions. We also got her nothing for Easter {she's nine months for Pete's sake}, my parents successfully also brought an Easter basket of goodies: books and clothes.

I LOVE Easter left overs and am rejoicing that I don't have to think about meal planning this week as we are feasting on cheesy potatoes, ham, corn, and other Easter delicacies. I intend on rocking these as long as possible. #thanksforcookingmom
My daughter is wearing her pjs to daycare today because I had zero desire to go ALL THE WAY
{really just one flight} downstairs to find her some clean clothes to put together some type of an outfit. There were clean pjs sitting in the drawer. {Really I am just jealous I can't wear sweatpants or pj pants every day to work}
I am off on vacation in just over a week and it can't come soon enough - I sort of feel like I am phoning it in - while attempting to get tons done.

April Photo Dump
April was indeed a VERY good month! Here are just a few of the highlights. Now here's hoping spring shows it's face in May. I am ready to ditch the coats and hats and be outside.

Easter
I had every intent of actually getting this up and posted a LONG time ago, however, that didn't happen, and so my Easter photos are just going up now. Life has been busy.
Marc and my mom spent a day and a half priming our basement!
The chickens have been moved from a rubbermaid tote to a kiddie swimming pool in the basement
WE LOVE living next to the Crow Wing State Park When the weather was nice we took LONG walks over there every day The dogs were in heaven
Mississippi River
FAMILY
Lots of walking = exhausted puppies
We (the boys) flew a couple of kites on afternoon it is the perk of not having power lines
Loving the sunshine, family, and her orange ball
Exhausted puppy when everyone left

April Photo Dump
As I make an April photo dumb I can hardly believe that this all happened in April, Easter seems like an eternity ago and I know it technically was in March but the last day so you get an Easter picture anyways. April has FLOWN by to say the least! I can't hardly believe May begins tomorrow. Tomorrow I can officially say I am getting married next month - crazy town!
I think I am going to attempt to do a monthly photo dumb on the last day of every month. Crazy to realize this all happened in this last month.
What was your highlight of April?

While the snow is super pretty and if this was November I'd be loving it however I am 100% over these April storms

At a bridal shower back home they made a "flat Marc" and I think it is hilarious and so I had to have a picture of both of them note the extreme height of flat Marc compared to real Marc

A Beautiful Mess
Happy Easter to everyone!!!
The beginning of this week I worked my tail off to clean my house, to wash the sheets on all the beds, to make sure all (7) of my towels are clean, I wiped down every surface, I cleaned up dog hair from every corner of my house (it gets everywhere and I love Dakota enough that it really doesn't bother me in the least), I cleaned the counter tops, and hid things in closets, my house wasspotless as clean as it is every going to get. It was glorious and for about two hours I loved it. I relished in my clean house, a clean house brings me joy. (Seriously, I LOVE IT) And then family started to arrive.
My mom brought delightful baked goods, and bags of her stuff, my brother and girlfriend have their stuff strewn around my house, my father packs like he will be gone for six months when it is really only a few nights and his stuff is everywhere. My tiny bathroom has toothbrushes and hair brushes and other people's personal stuff everywhere. My couch has four blankets thrown about and not folded nicely on the quilt rack. My backdoor is over run with shoes (a small piece of heaven for Dakota - she would move every shoe around the house if we let her) that look like they could put shoes on everyone in a small country. My car is blocked in by three cars in my driveway and coats hang on the back of every chair in the kitchen. I am thankful for the hot water heater that tries so very hard to keep up with us all when we need to shower (note if you go last at my house the chances are high that you are getting a cold shower) I am blessed. I love it.
I can't imagine holidays any other way. We have played games, told stories, stayed up late, my brother and I have gone for a run together, and we have enjoyed our time together. It has been glorious. I am thankful for the mess in my house, I am thankful for the overfull garbage can and the stacks of dishes that need to be done and the piles of sheets and towels that will need to be washed when they leave. I am thankful for the footprints that will need to be scrubbed off the floor and the blankets that need to be folded. I am thankful for my family who is willing to drive up to spend Easter with me.
Did you get to celebrate Easter with your family?
Do you guys all pack into one place?
What does your family like to do when you gather together?

Easter
Easter week was crazy nuts and marvelous all at the same time. This first year in call has been wonderful and a crazy learning curve, the people at Bethlehem are outstanding. The picture above is Marc, Dakota, and I after Easter services. We had a great time playing outdoors with my family, it is hard to believe that there is snow on the ground as I type.
I just got back from a wonderful road trip with my mom to drive my grandparents car back from Florida. We spent a few days on the beach and then a few days driving back. I had lots of crocheting time (which was amazing).
