New bike

I FINALLY DID IT! I got my new bike. Here are some pictures from last night's ride. It is a Trek road bike, she is a serious improvement from my bike circa 8th grade, semi cracked from the ridiculous old lady who hit me last year.

He is actually a serious bike rider and knows what he is doing
I am just learning the ropes
My view of my bike

The snow is FINALLY melting away
I love that we rode our bikes out to the middle of no where and were running into gravel roads

It was a wonderful ride, I need to learn how to ride with my feet clipped into my pedals, it should be fine once I get the hang of it, I am still a little slow getting in and out of them but I am catching on. My butt was a little sore after last night's ride - I actually think we only went 15 or so miles but it is a different set of muscles than I am accustom to using. I am excited about it and am up early so I can ride my bike to work today.

Do you enjoy biking?
Do you cross train in any way?
What is your favorite non running workout?

    1. I am not a huge biker - I am definitely a runner at heart, however I am attempting to learn how to road bike... we'll see how it goes. My fiance is big into biking.

  2. Yay for your new bike! Love the pics of your route! How fun!! I usually cross train with workout DVD's...kinda boring, I know! :0) I do ride the bike sometimes but my route is super boring and only a 2 mile loop.

  3. LOVE your new bike and your route! Beautiful!! :0) I know it's kind of boring, but I like workout DVD's as my source of cross training. I do ride the bike occasionally, but I have the same boring 2 mile route...nothing like what you see on yours! :0)

  4. I like to bike, but my bicycle is a death trap. Something with the fork, I think.

I like to do Insanity. I'm on Day 3 of round 2 (after SEVERAL months off, so I'm feeling it!). But...in a couple of days, the pain will be gone and I'll be craving the exercise endorphin rush.

    1. Time to get a new bike - did the one in Bismarck not work out??

How is the Insanity workout? I have heard good things about it!

  5. I need to go pick out a bike in Bismarck. Seriously, I want to!!!

Insanity is...Insane, but I love it. The first couple of days, I gain a little weight, because I put on muscle...But then, I start losing (a little bit, because I like to eat too much food).

It's so good, though. You REALLY get your blood pumping. And my muscles quiver after some of the workouts, but it's a good quiver. And I'm only about a week into it, and my muscles have stopped HURTING. Insanity makes me feel GOOD!
